Next up....Hash House Half and the training program

Tuesday July 12, 2011 11:18:

Sometime today I am hoping to merge and publish my new site. Its not much but I just want to simplify my 'old one'. Amazing what you do with an injury(!!), time is a healer(?) more like makes more work(!).

New to the site(?) Trying out the CoverItLive system, which enable you (or me) to write a 'running live blog' and enables anyone (I think) to interact with that blog. We shall see, I'm trying it out today with Stage 10 of the Tour de France (TDF). Also with this system it allows my to 'archive the blog' so that I can review it if needed, nice(!).

Saturday July 16, 2011 16:33:

CoverItLive is getting used. Tour De France (3 stages) uploaded.

Sunday July 17, 2011 14:41:

Thank god the TDF is on (and the open golf/women's world cup final) this injury would be 'murder' with our beautiful weather (!!).

Wednesday July 20, 2011 8:47:

A lesson for the Schleck (Frank / Andy) brothers, courtesy of Garmin-Cervelo, on how to win a stage (16) in the Tour De France (TDF) with a 2 v 1 situation. There's no way the Schlecks or Leopard-Trek will win the TDF. I have never heard of someone 'moan' so much about conditions, riders and teams as the Schlecks. What world do you live in(?) do you really think that other teams (top) are going to help you win the TDF(?). Hello, they are there to win as well you know(!). They are even 'moaning' about today's stage already(!).

Wednesday July 20, 2011 14:39:

An unfortunate set back (again) with the injury. I have now reached the stage where no further improvement will be had. Therefore I now have to wait for an appointment with the specialist.

Friday July 22, 2011 20:19:

Possibly one of the best car advert going - The Skoda TDF Car Advert - it appears every other commercial break during the live coverage.

On that subject (TDF) the Schlecks have suddenly learnt how to ride a bike race (at last) albeit I feel a stage of two too late. The gap to Cadel Evans is not enough in the TT. At last it's Cadel tour to win (or lose). But it is 'bubbling' up nicely, even the Green Jersey, now Sunday (Final Stage) could be a cracker.

Saturday July 23, 2011 20:00:

And so he show's the Schlecks a clean pair of heals. Cadel Evans (baring any incidents) will win the Tour De France 2011. A nicer person you could not meet, a true professional in so many ways and a well deserved winner.

And yes he did win. Cadel Evans the 2011 Tour De France winner. Mark Cavendish takes the Green Jersey.

Wednesday August 3, 2011 8:46:

I still have not worked out why Cycling takes 'centre stage' when it comes to drugs (only when failing test's, not finding cheats).

The reason I say this(?) Well the FIFA Womens World Cup was recently held and the following articles were produced - North Korea (1) / North Korea (2) / North Korea (3) - and strangly enough (on viewing the FIFA World Cup site) I can't seem to find any reporting on those incidents either(?)

Thursday August 18, 2011 8:29:

We must not forget that HTC-Highroad (who are folding at the end of the year) have a ladies squad as well. 13 ladies now have to find another team for 2012.

On a personal front I have a torned meniscus in my left knee, which requires surgery. The wait for this? 3 to 4 months, oh joy(!). Say goodbye to 2011 then :)

And just one last thing. The Spanish Super Cup has been held (Barca v Real M) with a brilliant game (of 2 legs - 5-4 on ag to Barca) being 'marred' by 'childish behaviour' at the end of the 2nd leg. Mr J. Mourinho, I did have respect for you and your talents, but you should lead by example, not 'attack' your opposite No.2. Your actions (I think) will cost you in the long run.

Sunday August 28, 2011 11:25:

Watching the IAAF World Championships @ moment (well I would be, usual bank holiday weather). You know what(?) this is a wake up call for the Brit's(!). Not wishing anyone any bad luck or anything, but two(2) DQ's and a couple of 'bad' runs so far. With the Olympics just around the corner (with have the old guard competing here) British Athletics need a 'shot in the arm' (!).

Mo Farah is next up in the 10k (thought the 5k was first(?) never mind he's running!) Mo, Jess and Jen seem to be our only hopes(!).

Monday August 29, 2011 16:54:

Well Mo ran a great race (10k) and Jess is 'sitting fine' (leading after Day 1). Is it me or did I really enjoy Mr Bolts DQ(?). Maybe he'll have some respect for the other runners and stop his 'play acting' before a race (showboating!). And why do they want to re-visit the rules(?). He couldn't get off the start line so he goes(!). Do they intend to re-visit ever rule when somebody gets DQ'ed(?). And as for the comment 'It's bad for the crowd', well blow me are we making 'taylormade TV' now(?).

Tuesday August 30, 2011 20:57:

Well there's a wake up call for British Athletics if ever I saw one(!) Jess still did good, but it just shows in that event you only need to 'mess up' one (1) discipline and your 'dead in the water'.

Sunday September 4, 2011 12:05:

Great result for Mo Farah in the 5000m, well deserved. But I do have my reservations on some of the athletes (British) and the forthcoming 2012 'event'.

Also on a foot note, been watching Brad Wiggins (and Chris Froome) in the Vuelta a Espana. I want Brad (and Sky Racing) to prove me wrong(!) Since the teams arrival on the scene, its seemed to be a deal that pured money (open cheque book) into a team but left out the important bit of 'team management'. Yes they do have a manager with a background (but on the track) but inexperienced on the road. The approach to racing was 'not as good as it should have been', hence prove me wrong please (this Vuelta is the only Major race which team work is being used correctly).

Saturday, 10-Sep-2011 8:34:

Well that's Brad W gone (sunk without trace!) and to be fair I don't believe (on this performance) he would have 'faired' any better in the TDF (not even a placing).

So we move on, now the IRB World Cup, going to be good I think. Can't see past the All Blacks though(!).

England start their compaign today should be a little 'brutal'.........

NZL ARG AUS RSA FRA ENG IRE WALTGA SCO

ITAFJI CAN GEO RUS SAM JPN ROM USA NAM

Good luck to all..............

10-Sep-2011 11:15:

Not the most impressive start to the IRB for England. But as they say 'tough it out'. Johnny W needs to do some work, and if the Argies had scored those penalties (game over!). Also whats with those England shirts(?) all the numbers are falling off (!)

Sunday September 18, 2011 8:51:

Good weekend's rugby. The Irish turning over the Australians and England playing good running game against Georgia, who in turn played a great running game (2 in 4 days). In years to come they will be a force on the World scene.

Recapping on the cycling, unfortunately Brad didn't prove me wrong. Hey ho (!)

Friday September 23, 2011 20:18:

Great result from the UCI Road World Championships. With Lucy Garnier taking Gold in the U23 womens road race. Bronze in the mens race as well with Andy Fenn. Thats one hell of a finishing sprint(!) right up the side of a wall(!).

Sunday September 25, 2011 15:32:

Great sunday's sport so far. Mark Cavendish winning the World title (makes the second GB world champ!)

Mark Cavendish celebrates

..........and a new world record for the mens marathon in Berlin.

Patrick Makau crosses the finish line to win the 38th Berlin Marathon

Kenya's Patrick Makau wins the Berlin marathon, setting a new world record time of 2hr 3min 38sec

Tuesday October 11, 2011 21:39:

Not really sure what to say about the Rugby World Cup(?). Whilst Wales are performing brilliantly, and will go all the way (the french won't put 2 good games together), the English have let themselves down badly. On and off the 'park' (well documented so not going there!) and I just hope (although it doesn't seem so as of now) that they all have a very good look at themselves in the mirror(!). The biggest event of 'your' career (!) and 'ou' act like that(?). Wow(!) how wrong is that.

Sunday October 30, 2011 17:40

Quick update. Had Op on Friday ( a lot of meniscus taken out) rehabbing starts on Monday (31st) for what I believe to be 6 weeks. Update on Managing an Injury page...............

Thursday, February 9, 2012 18:48

Seems a while since posting on this page. Albeit for a pretty good reason I suppose. Anyway been busy re-habbing and studying (Level 3 Health Fitness and Diet Course and Management Theory), which does pass the winter months away I must admit. Anyway away from that and into the real world, rugby's looking good (Six nations) could be close this year with some good games. And the footy's just as bad, more oscars than good football!.

Friday, February 10, 2012 8:26

Now is it me (?) or is the recent high profile cycling doping cases a little...well back to front?....why?....well we have the two contenders - Mr Jan Ullrich and Mr Alberto Contador - various reports, Jan U...Alberto C (and many more if you Goggle around)....one retired and one still riding (well until the other day!)....the one retired gets a two year ban (till 2013) and the one still riding get two years backdated (??!!??) therefore allowed to ride in August this year (2012).Is it me or what(?).
