This page is a personal viewpoint on the 'local scene' whether Political or just on everyday events. Some links might 'offend', but those are here so as not to be 'single minded'. If you cover all the angles (fact not fiction) then you can make up your own mind. The DFS Bikers will not print fiction (we are not the News Corporation).

So to start the ball rolling, does anyone know why this 'ID card' for housing qualifications is being introduced. In short what does it mean? A beautiful Political move, meaning I've done something which means nothing.

So the Ministers are nearly getting into the 21st century. Addressing the 'sticky' question of what and who can trade on a Sunday. For gods sake just let the 'owner' decide. Scrape all the relevant Laws and allow them to sell whatever they want.

Whilst its really is something that should be left alone, the ongoing 'saga' of the Childrens Home, which is now at the Scrutiny Panel stage, really seem's to be saying what has been believed for a while now. Its disrespectful to the 'victims' of the home to carry on this way. Senior officials of various departments have made a 'mess' of this important issue. Yet they don't have the courage to say so. Its a simple thing to do and would help in some way to put an end to this terrible issue. Maybe they need to show the courage that the 'victims of the home' have shown.
And leaving you with this question - 'What actions are taken by the Scruntiny Panel (or Government) after their findings are released and published in thier FInal form?'.
The Scruntiny Panel answer is here. It's seem's to be nothing really, pointless exercise(?) your choice.

The comment on who 'owns' the roadways (highways) on the Island of Jersey (By the Minister responsible for the Roads?) makes interesting reading. Whilst many other European Countries have accepted that they have a 'Duty of Care' for the up keep of the roadways (highways) and have do so by making a Law stating such, Jersey will NOT do this. So does this mean that the repairs carried out so far (over a number of years) are done 'out of kindness?'
Unfortunately I think the problem lies with the fact that if its written into Law, then roadway (highway) users who are involved in an 'incident' and this 'incident' is 'linked' to the condition of the roadway (highway) then a law suit(s) will follow. Well this is the 'real world' and everywhere has that problem. The answer(?) 'Make your roads safe!'. Heaven knows the number of incorrect road signs that are out on our roadways (highways). The incident at St Marys was noted as 'incorrect signage' on that part of the roadway (highway). Road painting (at junctions you have Yellow marking and White marking) you cannot have two (2) different markings without the correct information (highway code and Road Traffic Act - Law) being up to date (For information White marking at the end of a Junction [road cross section] is in fact a European Act [Law] Not a Jersey Act [Law] or Jersey Highway Code).

The famous 'OUT WITH THE TRASH DAY' (Friday) 'rides again'. Treasury Minister doesn't seem to want to stand at his next (whenever that is) election. Nice article.

To be honest this is nothing new - General Hospital in need of Urgent upgrade - it just begs so many questions. What with the roads system failing (£100m last count to repair) and now this, just where has 'our money' been going all of these years(?).
The next step(?) more taxes on the way, what did someone quote the other day(?) we are now paying 38% tax, which is not bad for a 'tax free haven' (allegedly).

Two (2) items to mention:
1. Petrol Prices - Will it make a different to advertise the prices of fuel at the Garages(?). No not really, why(?), well its a cartell anyway (which we all know) and garages only show some prices and those prices have terms and conditions. So does that mean you have to show the terms and conditions(?).
2. Education for Motor Bike riders and Cyclists - Yet again our 'main players' have missed the point. One BIG statistic (and question) that has been missed (and not asked) is 'How do Motor Cyclists and Pedal Cyclists end up on the road?'. A statistic that is missing is that answer. You work it out(!).

The headline say's it all really - 'The World's in Crisis, but we're OK' - I really wonder what we really do 'trade in'. I know that when one part of the World goes a 'bit wrong' the other side gains (simplistic view point), but surely we don't have 'a hand in all sides?'. Or are we just 'burying our head in the sand?'. Personally the latter is favourite, why?, if we have our eggs in 'all baskets', then why have we got all these cuts going on, and, have no money to 'do the basics?'.
And yet in the real world - Double dip 'on the cards' - an article states the facts.
